Should terminally ill children be able to die with dignity?

In the last 12 months there has been two landmark cases in the UK, where Doctors have recommended that children, with irreversible brain damage, should have their life-support discontinued and be allowed to die with dignity. In both cases the parents contested the recommendations and in both cases the courts ruled in favour of the medical recommendations.
