Research indicates that hypnosis is likely to be effective for most people suffering from diverse forms of pain, with the possible exception of a minority of patients who are resistant to hypnotic interventions (American Psychological Association, 2004).
Hypnosis and the control of pain


Hypnosis can help in the control of pain and discomfort caused by medical treatment. For example, chronic pain in cancer patients, nausea and vomiting in chemotherapy and medical procedures, such as injections.
